Weekly devotional by Pastor Jacky

We try so hard to maintain our bodies fit and healthy but how is our heart doing?

We take all sorts of supplements for our bodies but have you taken your nutritional supplements for a healthy heart lately? If you have been suffering from grumpiness, crankiness, sadness then READ ON!

Proverbs 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Supplement #1: Abide in HIM

John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Simply said, Life without HIM is dull and lifeless and we can’t really do anything without him.

True joy and fulfillment come from the source of it all and His name is: JESUS!

Make a decision to abide in Him and remain in Him all of the days of your life!

Supplement #2: Walk in love

Walking in love is NOT a feeling but a DECISION. Take a minute and read 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 (AMP). That is the definition of walking in love. The bible says when we walk in love we cannot fail.

Many times we are hurt or offended because of something that someone else has done to us but love does not take account of a suffered wrong. It doesn’t keep track when it has been hurt. Love forgives, releases, and chooses to believe the best of everyone.

Love is unselfish. Always thinks of others before itself. When you begin to water and refresh others you will also become refreshed. (Prov 11:25).

Make a decision to be a blessing to others and you will find yourself refreshed and cheerful in no time!

Supplement #3: Laugh

Proverbs 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Laughter is a good medicine! Doctors prescribe all kinds of anti-depressants which have many side effects. But God has the ultimate answer to depression and sadness and it’s the joy of the Lord.

The joy of the Lord shall be your strength.

Supplement #4: Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination will clog up your heart. It causes stress and anxiety when all of that could have easily been prevented with good preparation and planning. Learn to make lists and aim to complete them.

Some people procrastinate on the call of God on their lives. Making excuses for not stepping into the call of God will only make you miserable and unhappy. Get to work on seeing the call of God fulfilled and your dreams met. Start taking steps in that direction. For some it might be to start sharing their faith with friends and co-workers. For others, it might be to start studying at night to get prepared to walk in that calling. For others, it might be to start that business that has been placed in their heart to fund the endtime harvest of souls.

Whatever it might be for you. STOP waiting and GET GOING!

Supplement #5: Have an attitude of gratitude

Be Thankful!!

Keep a record of your blessings and rejoice! Don’t always wait for the big things to happen in order to get thankful. Be thankful about the little things and enjoy the journey. Have a glass-full mentality. Some people always see what’s missing, but they’re never happy. You must learn to see the good in every situation and start expecting good things to come your way today.

Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS, and again i say REJOICE!! (Phil 4:4)
