Today we are going to look at the redemptive work of Christ. Before we do lets go to the beginning and see what it was like?
God created Adam and Eve and gave them power and dominion over the animals of the sea and over the garden of eden. There was no sickness – there was no death — there was no pain — no fear- and no sorrow.
That was the plan of God for all of us. But as we know sin came into the world when Adam and Eve sinned so what happened at that moment:
- separation from God = spiritual death
- shame, quilt, fear, pain, sorrow
- stripped away their dominion and authority
- sickness, disease, and poverty
Jesus came to restore mankind to the Father.
The word redeem means “to buy out.” Christ has purchased us with His precious blood and we have been bought out from slavery into freedom.
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”
We have been redeemed from the curse of the law: The curse is 3 fold: spiritual death, poverty, and sickness.
Continue reading to see what Christ has freely made available to us by his precious blood.
1.) FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND ETERNAL LIFE
7 In him we have rredemption sthrough his blood, tthe forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall NOT perish but have eternal life.
If you want to receive the free gift of salvation right now just pray this with me:
Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of all of my sins. I believe that you died and rose again and you are coming back for me. Be my Lord and Savior. Today, I have been forgiven and saved in Jesus Name, Amen!
2.) Restored back to SONSHIP- NO longer a slave
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Since we are SONS we have the rights that SONS have. We can boldly come to God as a son and daughter. Our dominion and authority have been given back to us. We should reign in this world as kings not as slaves.
3.) Redeemed us from SICKNESS and DISEASE
Isaiah 53: 4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
Jesus broke (DEMOLISHED) the power of the curse when He died on the Cross and rose again, destroying ALL the power of the devil over the lives of those that would be saved.
Sickness and disease DO NOT have a RIGHT to be in your BODY! Only if you allow it -can it remain. Get bold and walk in what was purchased for you.
Divine healing is our portion through the redemptive work of Christ!
You have authority. Command the sickness and disease out in the name of Jesus and stand for your healing. The bible says- Resist the devil and he WILL flee.
4.) Redeemed us from POVERTY
if you have ever been poor or been to a foreign country where children are dying of starvation then you understand that poverty is certainly a CURSE.
2 corinthians 8:9
9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Well if we know anything about Abraham it’s that he was VERY RICH in livestock and in gold and silver.
The blessing of Abraham is also for us! You can read about those blessings in Deuteronomy 28.
Lets walk in everything that Christ has purchased for us by His precious blood!
